November 2014 Artist in Residency: Jaclyn wright
We're very happy to welcome our newest artist in residence, Jaclyn Wright! Wright's residency will last from Monday, November 17 through Friday, December 19 in preparation for an upcoming solo exhibition at the Neon Heater gallery in Findlay, Ohio. The exhibition, titled "The Two-dimensional Shadow," is concerned with dystopias, surveillance, tracking, and web bugs. We'll be hosting a public event relating to these themes in early 2015, details to come.
About the artist:
Jaclyn Wright is an American artist who lives and works in Chicago, IL. She received her BA from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and her MFA from Indiana University. She has also studied at the Hospitalfield House Art Centre in Arbroath, Scotland and at Kyoto University of Art & Design in Kyoto, Japan. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and her forthcoming solo exhibition at the Neon Heater Gallery in Findlay, OH will open in mid January 2015. She has worked as the visiting artist at the University of Cincinnati and is currently a part-time instructor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
