June 2022 AIR Event
Artist Talk with Alan Huck
Artist Talk with Alan Huck
June 24th from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
At LATITUDE Chicago (1821 W. Hubbard Street, Suite 207 Chicago,IL 60622)
On June 20th from 6:30-7:30, Latitude is hosting an artist talk with June's artist in resident Alan Huck. He will offer an experimental lecture based around a short book he is currently writing. The book and accompanying research are centered around a single photograph made by Sarah Charlesworth in 1990, titled "Text." More broadly, the lecture will focus on the shifting modes of reading as one moves between photographs, writings, and photographs of writing. Alan's work consists of a series of fragmented writings that approach this single image from many divergent angles, considering it in relation to theories of the book, the page, visual literacy, the "image-text," and more.
Masks are required for this event. If you are in need of accommodation to attend, please email programming@latitudechicago.org so these can be coordinated.
